Think big Jax
I am all over it!!
You know I have never been to a Suns game. The only time I have been inside the ball park was during the SB. I am going to go to a few games.
From jaxsuns.com:
"The playoffs will begin when the Suns face the Barons in Birmingham on Thursday, September 10, and Friday, September 11. The Suns will return home to host game three of the series on Saturday, September 12 at 7:05PM. Should the Suns win the second half title, the Suns would also host games four and five (if necessary) on Sunday, September 13 and Monday, September 14, respectively. "

Thanks for the info.
Man I am loving this!! Sux about the rain out lastnight. I smell a sweep coming. I got these alabama dudes at my job watching this series via net, because I am talking so much trash. They actually think Birmingham will win the series. Jacksonville will get its 5th Championship this year!!! How is the local media treating it?
Oh Yea Game 3 of the Divisional Series is today. MetroJax should take flicks, I don't trust the TU to do the right thing lol.
Sweep Em!!!
I'll be there (after tha jags game) - we got rained out last night, but they're letting us come back free with yesterdays ticket. When we left, bottom of the 1st, we had the bases loaded with 1 out.
Oh, and the birmingham coach got ejected as the game was being delayed - I took video, perhaps I'll put it up:)
Winning is ALL that matters!
And right now the Suns are destroying the Barons 13 to 2 it is the 8th inning!!!
It is safe to say the Suns are moving on to the Championship Series, don't see how the Barons could come back from a 13 to 2 score in 2 innings.
Tennessee Smokies just advanced earlier by winning their series against Huntsville, so it will be Jacksonville VS Tennesee for big one.....Jacksonville VS Tennesee....has a nice ring to it if you know what I mean lol. After the Jags lost today, watching the Suns rough up pitchers and clinch a chance for the Pennant is a great equalizer!!
Not sure when the series starts. I smell a 5th Pennant for Jacksonville!
Beautiful yard the Suns have...and a great entertainment option. I haven't made it out this year due to too much stuff going on. Plan on getting there more next season.
I was there and will be there Tuesday! It was a good game (that started yesterday). For those of you who haven't been our baseball grounds are awesome.
Their coach was quite entertaining (again) - he almost got thrown out.

(Sorry for the shaky camera, it was a camera phone)
Ha! I love it!
Too bad there was no dirt kicking. "Yer outta HERE!!!"
SUNS WIN AGAIN TONIGHT IN EXTRA INNINGS!
Was a great game - I got some more video of something weird that happened maybe I'll put it up later. Can anyone explain:
They had us with 2 outs, we made a base hit, get to 1st and the ump called it out. Our coach heads out there (calmly) and the call was "overturned." I've never seen a call changed in baseball and never found out what it was.
Anyway, Suns tomorrow at 7:05, WHO'S IN?
Jacksonville's winningest team:) (I can say that, I have jags tickets)
I know its not official yet but its a wrap!!! They might as well just raise the 5th Banner!! One more game and its in the Books!!!
I see about 7 of these guys in the majors. Bryan Peterson, Matt Domingues & Tony Cousins I see in the majors either next summer or 2011. Marlins fans should expect a really solid club in a few years, IF many of these guys don't get traded off. I remember the 2005 club winning it all when they had James Loney & Russell Martin & Chad Billingsly. Dodgers should be clinching their division soon. Looking forward the MLB Playoffs starting up.
Props to the soon to be FIVE TIME Champions!! 1968, 1996, 2001, 2005 & 2009.
^ Oh that's right! I forgot about the switch to the Marlins.
And Cooly, the Suns were around in '65?
It wasn't '65.. it was '68 that they first won the Southern League, which was their first season in AA. The Suns used to be a AAA affiliate in the International League for the Cardinals and Mets for like 6 or 7 years in the early and mid 60s. I was not anywhere close to being born back then, I just remember reading the wikipedia article on the Suns a while back.
Damn, I thought he had a typo that should have read '95 instead of '65. I had no idea the Suns have been around that long.
They've been around a while. For example, I know Hank Aaron played here on his way up to the majors.
And the Jacksonville Suns are the AA Southern League Champions of the World!!! WHOA!
Championship number 5 in the books!!!
Jacksonville should be all smiles!!
Props to the Bragans.
These kids are good, and will be seeing many of them in the Majors.
Fred Mercury do your thing man!!!!
Congrats to the Suns... Great venue... great team... fun times!
Weeeeee Are the Champions my friend.....
And weeeellll keep on fighting to the end.....
We are the Champions
We are the Champions
No time for losers cause We are the Champions!!!!
:D
Well, that's nice. Congrats. Too bad my Biscuits aren't the victorious ones.
Don't kill me, but what team are they affiliated with? Still the Dodgers?
Tremendous product and tremendous venue. The Bragans have represented the city well. The new park could support a AAA team in my opinion. I have supported the Sun's since the 70's in the "old metal bowl" that was Wolfson park.

oh ok
^^^The most awkward, and 'long awaited' reply in MJ's history EVER! LOL. I usually agree with alot that you say Cooly, but you've been off your game a lil' lately. I didn't see anything wrong what David said (over two years ago).
I would like to add another team that is exclusively from Jacksonville.
Team Resistance (http://www.teamresistance.org (http://www.teamresistance.org)), a local FIRST (http://www.usfirst.org (http://www.usfirst.org)) robotics team that is open to all high school kids out there on the First Coast.
Team Resistance has been the Florida Regional Champion three times (2007, 2008, and 2010), and we are looking forward to get our 4th one this weekend in Orlando at the 2012 Florida Regional at UCF Arena and hopefully onto the National Championship in St. Louis in the last weekend of April!
So come down to Orlando and cheer for your local Team Resistance and learn more about FIRST this Saturday all day!
Here is a video of our 2010 robot playing in the 2010 Florida Regional few years ago. This gives you a sneak preview of what it is like. Our robot is the one with the bright lime green. You can't miss us. We are known as the Team 86 from Jacksonville.

I'll be there Friday, and if necessary Sat and Sun. It's been a great season to follow the Suns. They're on a roll now. Won 10 straight to end the season and sneak into the playoffs.

I didnt see anything wrong with it either. I just wanna see the Suns bring another Championship to the city, especially since the Jaguars refuse to do it.
