Title: Dan Quiggle... Gimme Some Insight
Post by: buckethead on August 25, 2009, 07:16:23 PM
I just was solicited by a nice young lady to offer my support for him as a replacement for the late Jim King in the Florida State Senate.

I got some Reagan this and some Conservative that, but I remain unimpressed.

Has anyone heard of him before and if so, what are your thoughts. Democrats please feel free to offer any info.

You too Faye. ;)

His website is devoid of substance. I did get one piece of info out of the volunteer. He owns a title company.

I smell sweetheart land deal seeking.

Quiggle is largely connected to anti-tax groups in his support and message.  Like the others running, he is selling that he is the one true "conservative." But, as we have lost the true meaning of that word -- Quiggle is probably more accurately a fiscal reformer.

He never worked for Reagan during his years in office, he worked for him for a year as an intern after his last term.

Also, how did you really save taxpayers over $300mil? Please do tell.

Also, you're not a career politician, well, all we know is that your against higher taxes and for so called "conservative values". Well, what else sir? You offer nothing and tell us nothing really in your hokie ass commercial.

I like how the Tea Party doesn't like the use of their event in his commercial. Well, it is Copyrighted or anything of the sort, so get over it.

reed.  Whats all that in reference to?
His tv commercial, saying he is " New Conservative Leadership". New my ass, he has zero political experience, and thinking that you created a company, are for lower taxes, and spoke at the Tea Party basically means you're qualified to run a geographically and financially significant district?! Pu-lease!

He owns a Title company and lives in Ponte Vedra Proper.

My fear is that he is looking to gain the inside scoop to sweetheart land deals. Call me cynical.

His platform is as you suggest; "I'll cut taxes". I need something more convincing.

"Vote Smart Vote Art"?

I have hoped for years that we could get past these labels of conservative, liberal, progressive etc. (on the local, state and federal level) and get back to doing the business of the people. We vote them in and can damn sure vote them out if they are not truly representative. Pardon my brief rant but I think these days more than ever people are voting on a label and not truly seeing what our "representatives" are doing.  In, my opinion...keeping themselves in power. It is a pretty lucrative industry.

I don't know...but I would trust my gut instinct.

This dude is such a baby, hiding behind his wife over a possible taping of their home.

Most politicians in FL are heavily tied to developers. I don't know anything about Guiggle, except to say if he didn't use the "cut taxes" talk, nobody in the Republican party would vote for him. That seems to be the carrot that's been used ad nauseum since Reagan.

What I feel is wrong, is that Democrats don't get to vote at all in the election for this important State Senate seat. BTW, I liked Jim King,......met him a few times and found him to be quite reasonable.
However, I'm not in that State Senate district,......mine is Stephen Wise's, who apparently got re-elected for four more years in 2008.

Ugh, I can't wait for these damn commercials to be over. Quiggle will lose, again.
