I like the move personally, if not solely because it's a pretty low risk move that could payoff pretty nicely. He has a good rapport with Garrard and has good hands that need to come with a productive TE. Here's to hoping he makes a smooth transition to TE.
Go Jags!
lol. Back where he started. I'm glad he's out of Miami. He was killing a roster spot.
Great move, if the deal is close to the veteran minimum.
The Jags get a player they like using - without having to take a bath on a huge free agency deal.
I don't think he brings much to the team. He's a nice guy and that's the only reason people are glad he is back.
Precisely, Copperfiend. I do not think it is a given that he makes the roster. We have Lewis, who is safe. Estandia and Angulo have been with us for a bit and Earnest is coming in fresh. Throw in the rookie, Miller, and someone's going to be out of a job. I do not see the team keeping 4 TEs. Wilford is a very good guy and I love his story. Everyone wants someone like that to succeed, and there is nothing wrong with that. I am happy he is back and I hope he is able to EARN a spot.
I like Earnestness.
What is the Jags' infatuation with TEs? How many TEs do they really need? I think Dirk would run out 7 TEs each play if he could.
I hope this turns out to be a good move.
Go Jags.
too slow for WR. too small for a blocking tight end. however, he will compete and give his all. that's what the jags need. players who want to be here and want to work. they should have never released him to start with.
