Terry Lorince was our guest last night on Urban Jacksonville Weekly. It was an interesting show. You can listen here:

I'm a little late on hearing this...but, wow, she see's her organization as the "mall manager" of downtown.
I suppose they are modeling themselves after the Regency Mall. Does anyone have direct experience with Downtown Vision? What has your experienced been like? I'm mixed on them.

Actually, that is pretty accurate. Like a mall manager, they provide marketing/advertising functions as well as custodial/clean-up and security functions. Ideally though, an organization like this should recruit, guide, and facilitate new businesses in a significant way. A Mall manager would do that to some degree too, but DVI has to be MUCH more innovative in that regard than a mall, which mostly just negotiates the leases for it's own space.
This wouldnt be a bad reference if the mall (in this case Downtown) were actually full of stores!

it is mixed...they do a great job with certain things (downtown ambassasors, artwalk) and not so good with others....part of the problem is their Board is comprised of the downtown property owners....including ubnhelpful ones like parking lot owners.
