Title: Try MOCHI soon! (even though you don't like the SJTC)
Post by: stephElf on August 14, 2009, 02:03:48 PM
I'm not writing a full review on this anytime soon, so here is a quick recap:

Mochi FROYO (frozen yogurt)

You go there, they give you a sample cup and you try lots of different flavors for free and it’s non-fat.

lychee
raspberry
original
coconut
vanilla
green tea etc...

Then you pour yourself a cup of it and cover it with your favorite toppings and then they weight it.

I had 2 cups. Yes, I went back for seconds. I couldn't gauge how much to pour and it is THAT good.

$3.15 - original flavor frozen yogurt with sliced almonds, mangos, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and original flavor mochi (Japanese rice paper)

$2.88 - raspberry flavor frozen yogurt with waffle cone chips, rice krispie treats, captain crunch, almonds, strawberries and more original mochi (also available in green tea flavor and strawberry)

Mochi itself is delicious (like a gummy candy but better) and if you haven't tried it, you should! They will let you sample a piece before you cover your yogurt in it and pay for it.  The yogurt is top-notch, creamy and not watery and the staff is super-pleasant.

This is just like Yogurt City at the town center by the airport. You pay by the weight. I think at Yogurt City it is $.45 per ounce. Me and my wife can get 2 bowls for about $5

Haven't been to Mochi but the one on the northside is amazing, I still cannot believe that it tastes so good and is relatively low in fat and calories. Try mixing the green apple and blueberry.

Went to Mochi's, it was very good. The Taro yogurt was the best

SJTC = The St. John's Town Center off Gate Pkwy.  Mochi is located there by Babies R' Us.

We went there on Sunday...it was very good.  Just as good as Yogaberry in my opinion.  I liked the fact that you could pick your yogurt, mix flavors etc and add your own toppings.

My wife and I both made our servings, which were pretty big and satisfying.  Our total was $7.28 which is a couple dollars cheaper than Yogaberry when you add the toppings.
