I have lurked on this board for about nine months, and learned a lot of things about your city and things that it could do. Your city reviews are also good, as we can see architecture that could be good in Jacksonville.
I live four hours away in beautiful Charleston, but I can pick up your radio stations all the time (most of the AM's, plus DX from FMs like 96.1 and 102.9). Before analog switched, I could sometimes even get the UHFs on rabbit ears! WOKV comes in very well down here, and a lot of people listen to get the Jaguars and the talk shows.
I have some ideas to share, and I am happy to join this board.
Welcome to Metro Jacksonville, charlestondxman!
Hey Charleston, loved your regatta last spring. Tons of fun sailing up there.
Yes, it was great. We have a big tall ships festival every June in Charleston, and it is a big deal. Ships come from all over the world.
It is called Harborfest, and was held in late June this year. It was very exciting, as the ships left on a Monday afternoon, and headed back to their ports.

Welcome aboard charlestondxman! :)
Glad to have you "charlestondxman;" hope to hear more from you. Never been to Charleston but I've seen simply awesome, beautiful pictures and videos of your City, and it is truly breathtaking. Hope to hear more from you and your opinions and ideas on what could go over well in Jacksonville relative to what Charleston is doing.

Welcome Charlestondxman!!
Just checked out your link to the tall ship festival, something I have always wanted to see in Jacksonville. Having been "on the railroad" way too long, I wasn't aware that we too were doing a festival this year. While it was somewhat small, it was beautiful.
In both cities, yours and ours, I looked for "Mi Patria," The A.R.C. GLORIA, but sadly she wasn't here or in Charleston. The Armada - Rupublica - Colombia (ARC) GLORIA, is a world traveler. As Colombia is the only South American Country with both an Atlantic and Pacific Coastal area, they generally stay well equiped in the naval department. Cartagena, is the home of the Colombian (South American) Naval Academy, and the GLORIA is their cadet training ship. Maybe next year? Your town or ours? Her beautiful flag is her trademark. OCKLAWAHA"Libertad y Orden" VIVA LA REPUBLICA COLOMBIA!
