The fam & I ate at Foo Hao a couple of weeks ago & absolutely loved it. I was told that there's actually an affiliation (ownership) with Sake House down the street. Did you happen to notice the trippy pendant lights over the tables? The jury's still out on those, but otherwise, the place was great......
It is a great addition to five points...

Not a fan of the lights at all...find them very distracting. I keep thinking that a cop has pulled someone over close by with the flashing red/blue. But we enjoyed the food.
I'd rather they reduce the portions. Those dinner portions are too much and I am not a fan of restaurant food left overs.
Anyway, the food is phenomenal and the service is spot on.

More food porn! This place sounds pretty awesome, Steph. Was it very busy?
It is great food, I've always stuck to their thai menu, can't vouch for their chinese stuff, but I hear it's good too. Can't believe you've not been there yet, Stephen!
I had a bad experience there with the LemonGrass chicken I think it was. The lemongrass was like eating sewing needles. Hopefully mine was a rare occurrence.
It was steady for a mid-week evening. Hopefully they pack more people in on Friday and Saturdays. Now I'm craving some lettuce wraps!
I was there a few Fridays ago, and every table was occupied. However, there never were people waiting, they just cycled through.
Sounds good. I'm going to suggest to my GF that we try this out this weekend. Now, please can we get a place like this in Springfield, not one of those crappy take out s-hole Chinese restaurants we have now.
I have enjoyed both of my experiences there. The lights are so out of place, it just seems like the owner had a mental lapse when he chose them. I plan to go there again sometime next week.
I think that the lights are SO out of place that it becomes a novelty.
We've been there a few times and always enjoyed it. They have even cheaper lunch options. Entree, soup or salad and rice for 7 bucks!
The owner also told me that she owns Sake House too. She gets all of her recipe inspiration from her mother. I love this place!!
Steph, and maybe the party mentioned is referring to Mandy (K's) party tomorrow night :)
You should put Sake House on your short list (to review) - I never put 2 + 2 together for the longest time & actually thought that there were a pair of Japanese/Sushi restaurants within feet of each other since they actually have store frontage/entrances on 2 streets in 5 Points - pretty unique if you ask me.

I'll keep that in mind - thanks for the suggestion!
Sake house is bleh...
Best sushi in town is Sumo Sushi, ask for the leather-bound menu not the regular one. Prepare to get your socks knocked off.
YES!!!! Finally somebody on this site is Reppin' Sumo Sushi besides me! Right now I would say it is the best kept secret in Riverside.
sumo is a+.
On my way!
I'm actually not a big fan of sake house but was trying not to shoot them in the foot. Sumo is pretty tasty!!
I guess the Fu Hau thread hijack is in full effect now, but, I had to post the #10 from the "leather" Sumo Sushi menu tonight - YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING HERE - RIGHT? What's the inspiration? WTF!

By the way, this place was amazing as described........

I like Sake house for the teppanyaki and Sumo for the sushi. Sumo has craaaapp teppanyaki.
Thread hijacks being what they are. I've never had a real "horrible" experience at Fu Hao. The food's always been consistently good for me and the worst thing that's ever happened was I had to wait an exorbitant amount of time for my check once. But my food came out in a timely fashion. So no black mark there.
I had lunch at this restaurant a week or so ago and it was terrific. A full (dinner at lunch?) high quality meal for around $7 to $8. I'll be back often.
After losing one of my faves, Wormans, I am on the prowl for affordable quality replacements.

Hahaha, somebody should send that picture to Jacksonville Confidential for their "Engrish" segment.
