We've got a little bit of something for everyone next week at the 5 Points Theatre!
Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince will be there until Tuesday, August 4th.

Friday and Saturday night at midnight we're presenting the classic Harold & Maude. If you've never seen or heard of this movie, it's hard to describe. Maybe someone in the forum can give us a brief synopsis?

Starting Wednesday, we'll be showing a number of Hitchcock films:
Wednesday, August 5 - 5 pm - The Trouble with Harry
- 7 pm - Torn Curtain
- 9:30 pm - Birds
Saturday, August 8 - 4:30 pm - Vertigo
Sunday, August 9 - 4:30 pm - Rear Window
Thursday, we'll be showing Pink Floyd's The Wall as a sort of Midnight Movie for old people like me who can't stay up that late any more. I first saw this movie at the old Murray Hill Theatre, back when it also used to show Rocky Horror and other classic stuff.
And, starting next Friday, we've got Away We Go and The Girlfriend Experience - I'll post more about them next week.
I first saw "Harold and Maude" in '72. It's a quirky black comedy about a twenty something rich kid (who likes to fake elaborate suicides to torment his mother) who meets a sixty something eccentric woman (played by Ruth Gordon) at a funeral for someone neither of them know (they both like going to funerals). The music is by Cat Stevens. Two thumbs up.
Maude is 79 in the film. The kid is Bud Cort who was on his way to stardom before a car crash wrecked his career.
Thanks for the correction and additional info, gmpalmer.
We went to see Harry Potter again last night at 6:30. Five Points, you've GOT to do something about your air-conditioner. The blower was so loud that it was very difficult to hear the quieter dialog.
Any decent HVAC engineer could fix this problem for you. Otherwise you need to stick to action movies with no dialog but yelling.
