Amber DeLaCruz is in the top 3 on Jax Idol 2009. She needs your vote to win.
“Jax Idol began 6 years ago as just an idea to showcase local talent in the North East Florida Area and has grown into one of the largest vocal contests around. It’s an American Idol style contest that was brought to life by Joshua Howell. We have been running strong with no intention of slowing down.†This is a direct quote from http://www.edge17.com/jaxidol/jaxidol.html (http://www.edge17.com/jaxidol/jaxidol.html), where you can find out all about this unique Jacksonville event.
“It’s time that local talent in the North East Florida Area got the chance to showcase themselves and this is an amazing way to do so. If you love American Idol then you will love Jax Idol. It’s run similarly but definitely has its own style.â€
They’ll decide the Jax Idol winner at 7 pm Saturday. Please head on down to Edge17, 1187 Edgewood Ave, Jacksonville. You have to buy a ticket to get a ballot and they cost $5 for those 8-12 years old and $8 for older.
I believe you have to be at least 8 years old to get in but you can verify that by calling Edge17 at (904) 683-6060. Amber will be singing in the competition but not playing her guitar. She'll also be wearing a much nicer outfit. She does an excellent job and she needs your votes.
Amber, a 2009 graduate of Callahan’s West Nassau High School, is seeking her Associates in Arts degree from Florida Community College at Jacksonville. She’s majoring in Music Theory and Technology.
As they used to say on one of my favorite TV shows, The Price Is Right, “Come on down!!†Who knows, maybe I’ll get to see you there.
