Jacksonville police have identified a man found dead in Springfield Friday as RobertJon Montigny, 27, of the 300 block of East 5th Street.
Montigny died following some type of altercation about 3 a.m. at 1621 Hubbard Street, a witness said. Montigny was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police did not say how Montigny died. They said the cause of death is undetermined.
I know some about this, a couple of my friends were there. All i know is hear say, but I guess the guy that died, along with his sister joined some neighbors that were drinking on a porch. The guy started fighting with his sister, then another guy tried to break them up. Supposedly the sister choked her brother, and he passed out and never regained conciousness.
This MUST be wrong, the "worst crime zone in America" is around our morphodite convention center.
OCKLAWAHA
Wow; drinking quarts of malt liquor on a porch and a fight breaks out between He and his Sister, Sister chokes him to death. She must have been a drag queen or he must have been a puny, whimpy small sort of guy. I guess the other guy just stood there and watched afraid she might choke him too or got off on watching it.

I just said one guy tried to break them up, and no the guy was 6'5".
Not sure.. sounds more like self defense if he laid his hands on her first.

I missed the part of the article that went into this detail. Hmm.
What a sad day for their parents, one child dead and another likely heading to jail.
Everyone needs a family! Geez.

Well we have to since we can't get booze at RAM and we Springfielders are all about our booze.
Isn't anyone else offended by the title of this thread?

I agree that its very insensitive. People assume this was a drug deal, a gang related, robbery or something crime related, but it wasn't. This was a 27 year old man with a child that now has no father. I know the situation is odd, but several families are now missing several members in different ways. I feel for the families.

Yes it is offensive, It reminds me of the Ross and Wilson incident on Z93 in Atlanta when I was in high school
Ross and Wilson lost their job at Z93 by dedicating Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust" to one of serial killer Wayne William's young victims (Atlanta's "missing & murdered children" case.) Supposedly, they were kicked out of the station while the song was playing.
everyone dies. don't take it personal. =)
death is profoundly personal
It's incredibly offensive that someone would have such poor judgment in picking the title of an article concerning a young life taken by his own sibling :'( It's even more upsetting that no one has come forward to tell the truth involving his "accidental" murder. In order for a young woman to take out such a tall, healthy, young man she would have to be drug induced and completely out of control. To kill her own brother would make her completely psychotic. A woman has an unknown strength when they are enraged to the point of no return. Whether her anger is justified or not would mean nothing once she has set in her mind exactly what she was going to do. Bottom line, she killed her own brother. How can you go on in silence, knowing that you killed your own flesh and blood. To do that you have to be a cold hearted bitch and deserve no sympathy whatsoever. Honestly if you really loved your brother, even if you were high you would rather walk away than live with his blood on your hands. She will never get away with this. Cain killed Able and was marked for all eternity. God sees all and knows all. He has never been a fair God, only a just God. I am sad for the family, but in the end you either tell the truth or the truth will tell on you. ???
uhhhhhhhh..................ok then.
