Title: Youth acting/drama in the area(?)
Post by: blizz01 on June 28, 2009, 02:05:42 PM
Sooo - I have a very expressive 6 year old who watches her older cousins with organized productions which seems to only include opportunities for 10ish & up.  Is there anything reputable (clubs/organizations, classes etc.) out there that anyone is aware of.  Not interested in pageant stuff, though.

OK - My inquiry must have been posted at an inopportune time (Sunday afternoon).  I'm gonna shuffle this back to to the top since I know there must be plenty of theater types that are on this board & it seems to be the nucleus for so many other discussions.  Anything like this - anywhere nearby?

Sorry blizz, in the two years I've lived here, I haven't heard of anything in Jacksonville.  It would be great if we had a children's theatre or youth players group.  You might be able to find a summer camp through UNF because I know they do music camps.

You might check with Theatre Jax, they had a playhouse in San Marco, not sure if they are still there or somewhere else. The Friday Musicale in Riverside would be another choice, if they do not know, I am fresh out of ideas.

Good call mtrain.  Looks like we might need to wait a year, however, based upon the min. age requirements - thanks.
