Police: TV pitchman Billy Mays found dead at home
TAMPA, Fla. â€" Tampa police say Billy Mays, the television pitchman known for his boisterous hawking of products such as Orange Glo and OxiClean, has died. He was 50.
Authorities say Mays was pronounced dead Sunday morning after being found by his wife at home. There were no signs of a break-in, and investigators do not suspect foul play. The coroner's office expects to have an autopsy done by Monday afternoon.
Mays' wife, Deborah Mays, says the family doesn't expect to make any public statements and asked for privacy.
Mays was also featured on the reality TV show "Pitchmen" on the Discovery Channel, which followed Mays and Anthony Sullivan in their marketing jobs
This has truly been a week of tragic loss and talent.
What are we to do now? Who can we trust for great gimmicky products?
I just don't trust that ShamWow Vince. He doesn't sit right with me.
Now we're talking about a loss! I'll never have a triple sized offer again... Oh the humanity. Sad, the guy seemed pretty real in his new TV show "Pitchmen". So much for the rule of 3.

Jeez... 50 seems kinda unlucky... :'(
What in the world....it comes in 4's now?
NOOOO!!!! i love this man.
Holy smokes maybe that 2012 movie trailer I saw during Transformers is right. The world will come to an end in the year 2012 and this is just the beginning.
such a shame he was a good guy. just glad he was able to have some of the good life before his time was up. RIP Billy Mays!
:'( That's just so sad.
Who's gonna tell me about the joys of cleaning now?

LOL! I am saddened by the loss as well, Billy Mays was cool as hell in my book, but this is just too funny! I do seem to recall somewhere in Revelations the death of a bombastic salesperson does bring about the apocalypse.
they do not know that it contributed to his death but he was involved in a rough airplane landing yesterday and some overhead storage fell on his head. He was interviewed by the Tampa area news afterward.

Damn BILLY! Why didn't you take the train. A serious bump to the head can lead to sudden death depending on swelling within the skull. Sometimes this sneaks up on people that think everything is just perfect. Tomorrow they'll feel better, or so they think. The news archives are full of cases that have resulted in sudden death from seemingly minor knocks to the noggin. This can be especially tragic in children who may just go to sleep and never wake up again.

Might as well make it six. Fred Travalena just died too.
Kinda surprised to hear all the emotional comments about Billy Mays... America loves its pitchmen.
