Title: Any local establishment that offers brew your own beer?
Post by: Clem1029 on June 15, 2009, 06:40:20 PM
Back where I hail from in Northeast Ohio, there were a few taprooms in the area that had a setup to brew your own beer - not necessarily a home brew kit, but they had the whole setup for small batches of brews, providing all the ingredients for the price, etc etc (a great example was this one (http://www.thebrewkettle.com/brewyourown.htm)). It's great for a special event or something - you can do up your own labels, brew the type of beer you want, that sort of thing.

I've been digging around and haven't found a similar place in the area anywhere. I'd love to find one if it exists, so I turn to the experts of everything Jacksonville - do we have anything like that in the area?

I'm no expert, but you might want to see what bold city brewery can do. They frequent this site, but if they don't respond:

Can't brew your own beer at Bold City. For one, you need a license to distribute. Heck BC cannot even private label a beer without ATF approval. I heard from their distributors tonight.

Make your own beer, slap your own label on it and give to your friends at X-mas.

I don't think there is, but really its not that hard and you don't need that much room, if you have a large closet or better yet an understairs closet you can do it if you invest in the right supplies
