Nice post tufsu1.

Obviously weather plays a large roll in the condition of our roadways and the state is pretty much flat.  Not to mention that Florida is probably the 2nd or 3rd fastest growing state in the country.

But, we in Florida also have a fetish with pavement and smooth fast roadways....

Good info!

If you want to see crummy roads, travel down Riverside in front of St. Vincents. But by and large, the roads are in pretty good shape, except for some areas of I-95 south of JTB all the way to I-295, for some reason the gap between each section is breaking apart, sadly FDOT has done nothing to fix it, and won't until a sinkhole develops. Especially since the Governor is cutting everything with regard to FDOT's budget.

I thought I remembered this, on page A-18 of the current Transportation Improvement Program are two projects to work on the pavement of I-95.  This is a link to the North Florida TPO site, click on the "Duval Supplement" on the right, then go to page 26 of the PDF that comes up.

If someone knows how to stick the image in here, have at it.

In Fiscal Year 2009/10, the DOT will spend $25 million from Greenland Road to JTB, then the next year $35 million between JTB and Atlantic (bumping into the Overland Bridge project discussed elsewhere).
