The ink might not be dry on the deal, but a source says Dolphin Stadium could soon be renamed LandShark Stadium.
That’s LandShark as in LandShark Lager. It’s likely a short-term branding opportunity, perhaps for one season, but the arrangement would fit with Dolphins owner Stephen Ross’ plan to make the venue an entertaining tropical South Florida experience. LandShark is served at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville restaurants.
Buffett has been chatting with Ross about a business opportunity. But he wasn’t revealing anything about a business deal when I asked him about it at Monday’s Heat-Atlanta Hawks playoff game.
“You’re going to find out real soon,†Buffett said with a smile. “Real soon. It’s going to be great.â€
A press conference to announce the deal could be held next week.

This is one of the few beers I haven't tried. Looking at that photo is making me VERY thirsty.
Think domestic Corona.
Oh, so it tastes like shyt too?
I didn't say that, but it sure isn't Guinness!
Hmm - why not in Jacksonville?

Perfect description! I like em'. I guess everyone has their different taste for beer; Like I don't do stouts like Guinness. IMO Heineken are overrated and nasty, but hey, that's just me. I like smooth tasting beers.
How many times has that stadium been renamed? Joe Robbie, Pro Player, Dolphin, and now Land Shark; I think that's all of em'.

Well...I dont think it's bad. It's just not good. But I like the "Jacksonville, FL" on the packaging. Always makes me want to buy it...then I remember it tastes like water and is overpriced.
It wouldn't make much sense IMO to have a name like LandShark Stadium, yet your team is a type of cat. A dolphin at least has a fin looking like a shark's, but still, stupid name.
It could be argued the name would make more sense here: Dolphins and Sharks are (at least in folklore) enemies, with tales of dolphins driving sharks away from stranded swimmers. The name is "Land Shark" not a whole lot of connection with aquatic mammals. Jaguars, as predators, could be "land sharks" (OK, except for the jaguars are solitary hunters and sharks are pack hunters (mostly) thing).
And, it would be better than "Clean Shower Stadium" - another local company whose bid was rejected in favor of Alltel.
Oh dear god.
CSX can't be on there, because they're supported by the government, from what I've been told. That really sucks, yet I'd still love to see MPS Group Stadium.

Its all good Lake. Just remember now that now only did we retire Marino in style for you, we also have planted our name on your playing field....
;)
^Good one!

More like the other way around Reednavy. They offered the government a few "rooms" from their house (for a price) but the government didn't want to pay. Works better when they can build airports, ports, and "FREEways" with railroad tax money. OCKLAWAHA

I like it too I-10 East, in fact I'd say as fun as Corona. Now if you like excellence try Tsing Tao, Anchor Steam or Leapord (from NZ). Anchor also has a great porter. Then of course theirs always DP with Sailor Jerry Rum (both cherry based drinks *WARNING Sailor Jerry is nearly 100 proof - STRONG STUFF) SOCO 100 and Rebel Yell.
If y'all haven't been on the REBEL YELL web site you have REALLY missed a historians treat and a few brain challenges! Shhhh we won't tell if you score as a Yankee. http://www.rebelyellwhiskey.com/ OCKLAWAHA
If you want smooth try Amstel Light. It is just about one of the smoothest beers I have ever tasted. Other than that, Dead Guy Ale and Brooklyn Lager are two personal faves.

Amstel light, might as well drink Pearl light, or there is Keystone light they are both cheaper and as close to water as Amstel light 8) Give me a hoppy beer that makes you set up and pay attention. Favorite is Sierra Nevada Pale ale, but redhook IPA is also good. One of my favorites back in early 90's used to fly through St. Louis airport often, Bud had a small bar there, only place I found a bud beer called "Spirit of St. Louis ale" hoppiest beer I ever drank.
This naming deal should do a pretty good job of increasing interest and sales of Landshark Lager. It could easily catapult the brand from a very limited niche product to a more widely distributed brand beer. Since it's made here in Jacksonville, the naming deal and increased consumer base of the beer should lead to more business in Jax.
More beer needed means more jobs and shifts at A-B plant to make, pack and ship the stuff. Who knows, if it gets big enough, Buffet may eventually set up a small brewery and restaurant here which should make for a nice tourist attraction (maybe just my wishful thinking).

Buffett is friends with the Dolphins owner.
Landshark may be the worst beer of all time. Horrible after taste... like an even worse version of Miller Highlife.
I wanted to like it being a home-town brew and tried on different occasions but I never enjoyed it.
I still would've liked Landshark to purchase the naming rights to JMS as the team could really use that money... they could rename it Tampax stadium for all I care just as long as they sign the check.
Personally, I like the ring of Summer's Eve stadium.
I think the time is right for...
Trojan Stadium... Home of the Jaguars...

Del Rio did play for USC...
Maybe Peyton could throw some coins out there and call it "GATE STADIUM"
