Now is the time for JEDC, DVI and COJ to step up and help a local company relocate Downtown!

Peterbrooke would be a great addition for the Landing. Especially, the those empty retail wings facing Independent Drive. It would also be cool to see them take over a building like the Snyder Memorial Church or the Marble Bank on Laura Street. Unfortunately, it would take a while to renovate those structures. Bay Street, perhaps the Churchwell Lofts retail space could possible work as well. A chocolate/wine bar would fit in with the rest of the bars along that stretch.
Oh the Churchwell building. . . since they'll never give it up, it should just be leveled and turned into a park.
My vote is for The Landing.
Wasn't this discussed a few years ago? I rmember the old library as a potential option when the RFP was issued and yet another debacle began.
Its good to hear they are still looking. I agree that the Landing sounds like the best location, assuming they can work out the space requirements and perhaps some Water Street frontage.
I really hope they make it to the Landing and Sleiman works with them to really showcase the Landing and Peterbrooke, government stay out of the way!
from what I've been told, The Landing thing is pretty much a done deal...its been in the works for some time...I think just gives Peterbrooke some bargaining power on lease rates, renovations, etc.
They looked at the old Jewish Center/Job Corp building in Springfield which would have been so cool. I thought it would be a perfect location for the multple school field trips with the park across the street.

That is what I was thinking, their timeline is too short to build from the ground up or do a massive renovation.
I think the Landing is an obvious and excellent choice.
Since the Landing itself is locally owned, and it's primary tenant (if Peterbrooke moves in) also being a local, would be a good thing, IMO.
The Landing seems to just keep chugging along in spit of current economic problems.
Uh, I meant in spite, not in spit. Ewwww!
Stop down on a Friday night and you will find hundreds of folks having a good time... :)
true....it was packed Wednesday night (probably because of Nickelback)....and should do really well tomorrow for the Jags Draft Party
So where could/would Peterbrooke go? Ground level/Street-side?
Looks like Peterbrooke signed a lease afterall

I wonder what will happen to the San Marco location?
Out of curiosity, didn't Peterbrooke once have a small store at the Landing? Early-mid 90s?
And speaking of a former Peterbrooke target site, has there been any news on the library project lately?
Any word on where they will be locating at the Landing? Southend Brewery, west mall wing or east mall wing?
