Wow; what a shocker and a huge loss; and only 56 years old.  This will make it more and more difficult for them to carry on and continue, but they probably will get a new Keyboard player; but howbeit, it won't be the same; the band just won't be the same.

Oh, this is sad news.  Like the other members of this band, he was a very talented musician.  They produced some incredible music.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Powell.

The news of Billy's passing is very sobering, and just comes as a complete shock to me. I've had conversations about music, Skynyrd, and what not over the years with him at Publix. One moment I'll never forget, is telling him congrats on "Red White & Blue", one of their first top 10 radio hits in years, and that it gave me chills everytime I heard it.

He just smiled, and said, "then the song is doing it's job."

Rest In Peace Mr. Powell, I'm feeling your loss already.

P.S. Just like there's no replacing Ronnie, Steve, Allen, and Leon, there won't ever be anyone who could ever replace Billy.
