Brooklyn Park? The Miles project?

The Miles project will not start until they can secure financing.  In this market, it probably means they are indefinitely delayed.

The parking garage site has cleared and there is a security guard. That's about it.

I like the hotels near the parking garage. I parked near there for the Gator Bowl and was impressed with how they interact with the street.

I saw in San Marco they demolished all those buildings, in what looks like preparation for those proposed condos with a Publix, unless they sold it to someone else.

Its for Publix but that project won't go vertical before 2010.  In the meantime, it will sit as a vacant lot.

From what I understand (and please note, this is at best third hand information), the owner and/or General Contractor who were fined by OSHA for the accident resulting in the loss of that poor man's life are contesting the findings of the investigators and the conclusions of their report, and of course the fines that were assessed.  However, the site can not be "released" for continued activity until the reports are settled and the fines paid.  This will take additional administrative hearings and, eventually, a resolution of these claims before that can happen.  Lawyers and administrative bureaus will necessarily be involved, and that means it will take some time.

On the other hand, considering the current economic climate, the owners probably aren’t in much of a hurry or particularly motivated to get the project moving again anyway, at least not right now.

I heard that the downturn on the economy this year will not last long. When it does restore itself, I think we can see only a select few project (hopefully some high rises) be resurfaced and start construction. Keep the Faith!
