Title: New Year's in Springfield
Post by: zoo on January 07, 2009, 08:56:03 AM
Wanted to start a thread of pics of the holiday season happenings in Springfield. The first two are from the Roaring 20's New Year's Eve party. The photographer ok'ed use (THANKS!)

There were many other community events over the season, so I'm hopeful some other Springfield residents/posters will add more from the other holiday events (with usage oks, and no names/addresses, of course!)

And, courtesy of biggietea at the Urban Core blog, here's some of what's happening in early 2009:

Some pictures from the New Years "Wandering Cocktail Party". Each participating house provides a cocktail and (optional) some appetizers.  Guests start at the first house and wander to the next until ending up at the last house where New Years is celebrated.

We went to the New Years Even Wandering Cocktail Tour.  It was a lot of fun.  There are always plenty of parties, first fridays, festivals, art exhibits, sporting events going on here.  I hear the roaring 20's party was fun also but required period attire which we didn't have.  I think we should post the events on here for the readers to attend.

Sorry no, the men were in tuxes and zoot suits. Hate to be the one to break it to you Karl but our tranny hookers really aren't that fashionable.

I guess it depends on how you define fashionable.

If you use "conforming to the custom, fashion, or established mode" with the addendum "of a tranny hooker" then yep by definition alone they would be.

But using "of or relating to the world of fashion" which is what I was doing, they greatly miss the mark except perhaps for those who subscribe to White Trash Daily for their fashion tips. We have the pictures for those who think these guys just stepped out of a drag show and look better than most women on a good day. They aren't that. Skank is more accurate.
