Title: Hemming Park Update.
Post by: stephendare on December 22, 2008, 02:14:09 PM
Well, the state of Hemming Park seems to be fairly interesting.  Jax Confidential has posted a pretty hilarious attempted burglary epic fail.

Word from Creative Community Solutions is that the Dalton Agency has downsized until they are only inhabiting a single floor of the builiding.

Bobbi McGinness will probably shed no tears over that prospect, considering the history of the Snyder Memorial and the Dalton Agency.

No word yet on whether or not the Laura Street Corridor will go through.

QuoteLaura Street Improvements Program Update

• The funding for the proposed Laura Street Improvements Program which includes streetscaping, landscaping and traffic improvements along Laura Street will be presented to City Council on January 5 and 6.  If funding is approved, the project will begin in the fall of 2009.

The way the world is going, we'll all be a part of the upper atmosphere by then; why can't they move faster on these projects?  Jax is so darn slow when it comes to moving the cash and approving a project.

It depends on where the project fits in priority with the administration.

Enough Said.

True.  If money were a concern, this is the example of a project that could have been added to the list the city sent to the Obama administration.

I fear that our city government only sees what is coming out of pocket right here and now, not the impact that a project like this will have in the long term. Sometimes saying yes is the tough decision especially in the current economic downturn. It is no doubt time to be frugal, but you can't stop moving forward unless, of course, you believe it's time to shut down and give up.
