Based on a suggestion from Monica, I have created a shared Google Calendar for Springfield events. I am posting the link here for people to try it out. I have already filled in some events which I am aware of.

The SPAR calendar on the main web site only seems to contain SPAR events and is not updated very frequently. Additionally it requires Administrator privileges to add events (or wait for someone to approve them).
There currently is no easy way to get up to date information about neighborhood events in one central place.
The idea is that anyone who wants to add events to the calendar can do so. Just send me your email address and I will add permissions for updating the calendar. This way multiple people can contribute and update events. The workload is shared and the calendar is always up to date with a variety of events.
