Many newspapers have started the practice of charging a fee to search their archives and retrieve old articles. The Florida Times-Union is charging $2.95 for individual articles.To view the complete article, you must click on the headline in the results list. You will be asked to register as a new user or sign-in as an existing user. Payment is by credit card. Here is how to do it for free. Fantastic!  This has been bugging me for a few weeks.  Particularly the stupid lack of a flat-rate subscription option.  I would have been willing to pay a flat $5 or $10 a month for this service, but the $3 per article charge was just too much.

But free works out even better...  ;D

I have not run across an article yet that requires payment yet... but it is good to know that when I do my library card will save me 3 bucks.  When a paper charges for an article is there a link to this site so you can use the library card?  Or do I have to got to the site and search for the article again?
