Meet the new Jacksonville City Council

After the least talked about election ever on Tuesday, the 2007 Jacksonville City Council is set. The election cycle brought us ten new city council members (however two of them have previously served on the council). The new council will meet May 22nd to elect a President and Vice President. Daniel Davis is running unopposed for President, while Ronnie Fussell, Richard Clark, Mia Jones, and Art Graham are contending for Vice President.

How does the Downtown peanut gallery feel about likely District 4 run-off winner Don Redman? Over at Flog, there was worry about the potential for PPP (puritanical public policy) with respect to entertainment venues and serving of alcohol.
Jack Webb's and Ray Holt's pictures are in the wrong district.
One can only look out for all of the projects that will now spring out of nowhere....campain promises and promises for helping John's friends get into offices at which they are not qualified. A lame duck Mayor is bad enough but one that doesn't have a clue yet how government is run with a pack of yes man directors following him....makes me want to move.
There is a nice balance of experience and new faces on this council. Good luck, these are tough times and it is going to take a lot of work to make the city move forward.
