For 27 years, Jacksonville Beach's Adventure Landing has been one of the most popular attractions for kids and their families anywhere on the First Coast, but current plans for the property will shutter the park in the near future. The Jaxson's Bill Delaney and photographer Erik Hamilton stopped by to take one last look.

Wonder what the odds might be that interest rates have taken out the apartment plan and they're just sitting on the property (and letting it continue generating revenue) until rates go back down or the market otherwise improves.
^For what it's worth, I've heard that they'll likely get another year on top of this, and that Adventure Landing is exploring a long-term location somewhere in the Kernan/Atlantic intersection.
Interesting. Looking on a map, the spot that stands out to me is the wooded area just east of the Titus Harvest Dome Spectrum Church, owned by said church. That'd provide a space slightly larger than the current park with full access to both Atlantic and Kernan, plus they'd have the space to orient the park away from the houses across the surrounding streets. That strikes me as a pretty optimal location if that's the area being looked at.
