I think the Oakleaf has been open less than a year.

I'm suprised to see that they decided to shut down two in the same area of town.

I hate to see this.  One of my favorite stores, Linens and Things, is going out of business and now my favorite electronics store is starting to close down some stores.  I just don't care much for Bed, Bath and Beyond, never have.  I also don't care much for Best Buy.

Me too. The Youngerman store has been there forever and is terribly outdated. The Oakleaf one surprises me quite a bit. It's brand new. I think the only Circuit City stores left in Jacksonville will be near Regency and the Avenues.

I am surprised to see the one in Regency escaped. Another casualty in Regency is the Smokey Bones it closed with no notice on Friday.

I think the parent company spun those off at some point earlier in the year. There was one in OP too. Does anybody know if that one is still open?

Unfortunately, there will probably be a lot more national chain closings.   People don't buy when their out of work.

OP Smokey Bones is closed as well, no warning.

Yes it is strange that Circuit City totally abandoned the westside/OP market, closing both of its stores there.
I hope they know that there are no fanatics willing to drive 20+ miles just to shop at CC over here.

I stopped by the closing Circuit City store in Oakleaf Town Center the other day, and they have some really good 'store closing' deals. Pretty much everything in the store is 10-20% off, and the store is still stocked well. Great place to do some early Christmas shopping, that is if you have the money in these hard times.

I heard on the news (FOX30 at 10:00 last night) that HH Gregg will be accepting Circuit City cards; Not sure what kinda CC cards they are, and I'm not sure when the deal is over between the two stores; Maybe someone can help.
