Not talking about the projects already under construction, I will not hold my breath until I see construction workers working and/or cranes (low cranes if needed) in the air. I grew up in LaVilla at 817 West Duval Street, and memories of that area still pervade and come to mind...memories of people everywhere walking around, shopping, music from the bars and restaurants, movie houses (the Roosevelt, Strand and Ritz), and just bustling activity in that neighborhood back in theday (60's and early 70's). It pleases me to know that someone is thinking about my former neighborhood developing it into something active and useful instead of empty lots, and a warehouse here and there. I hope there's more to come for LaVilla.
