Alex Sifakas and Company are accumulating quite the collection of Downtown Real Estate:
Quote
WB Real Estate Capital bought another Downtown property Aug. 20, the three-story Porter House Mansion at 510 N. Julia St.
Built as a private residence after the Great Fire of 1901, the structure most recently was used by KBJ Architects until it moved and sold the property to a private investor in 2017.

QuoteSifakis said that with the purchase, the area has almost five contiguous city blocks "with redevelopment in the works."
Wonder what the plan is.
This group sure is putting their money where their mouth is. The city should be showing him the deference they show Shad Khan.
Remember when KBJ tore down a building on adjoining corner to this house. Said they would develop it for their use, which never happened and now they don't even own the house they were in to start with.

The Porter Mansion is right across the street from the marble (2nd) Federal Reserve Bank. Is the mansion protected, does it have any kind of landmark status? I worked in the mansion briefly, and that building was (and hopefully still IS) a treasure in the truest sense of the word. When you stepped through the door your soul was transported to another era. The building that was next door was a First Christian Church building, as they had suffered fires in the first two locations - I believe it was also at one time a Baptist church. Anyway, I hope the new owner will preserve the Porter mansion (Klutho!) and all its magnificence - if it still exists after the 2 other owners.
Federally yes. Locally no.
The local is the key. It seems like Sifakas could be interested in pursuing.
I wouldn't say he's had a marquee project yet downtown but now owns a lot of dirt and seems to get it.
