Title: Rum Running House - Panama Park?
Post by: drewshade on August 02, 2020, 05:23:18 PM
Does anyone have any knowledge of houses used in Panama Park during prohibition? Acquired a house, that neighbors say have a lot of history: tunnels have been located under house, through yard and under now paved street. I believe the original owner founded Duval Spirits?

You bought the house, are there tunnels?  Sounds a bit far fetched to me.

What's the address? Should be able to zero on it real quick if the original owner founded Duval Spirits.

JEA and neighbors confirmed existence of tunnel and closed it off by street. Neighbors said boat house was removed that also had tunnel and access under house to basement. Complete concrete access under the house 7ft. Height.

Neighbors said tunnel expanded almost to main St.

If the property appraiser is right, it looks like the house was built in 1936.
