25 urban districts: What do they all have in common?

Signage!!!  I could tell from the views down the sidewalk what stores I would come across before I got to the fromt door.  We need to allow perpendicular signage!!!

This is probably the most relevant, concise and valuable article MetroJax has done on this subject in many weeks, maybe ever.  Jacksonville has GOT the start making the RIGHT decisions or else we are in for another wasted decade of mediocrity downtown.

Note that MANY of the cities listed are smaller, in some cases MUCH smaller, than Jacksonville.   Back in the '70's and '80's virtually no one had realized the right combination of 'ingredients' to revitilize an urban district.  We don't have that excuse any more.  The empirical evidence is there now.  It's time to act on it.

This was the best article to date you guys. It's point-in-case. I think you guys should print this article and distribute it at the next counsil meeting. I am standing and applauding right now. LISTEN UP GOVERNMENT: It's not about YOU! Give downtown back to the people who actually want to use it!
