Agreed, way overdue but if you read the article there was a lot to be considered.  Hoops to jump through to get approved for funding, finding the right company to do this vs the ones who built our courthouse...oops!!!

I was there to help cleanup the balustrades destroyed by the storm surge. As heavy and bulky that they were, most of them fell apart like sand castles. I'm very pleased to see they will be restored, but this time I hope with a lot more structural integrity. The light posts will be a nice addition, but one has to wonder just how durable they'd be on top of that wall in the face of another hurricane/tropical storm.
