Strange, the article has dates for everything else related to the sign, but not when the current LEDs were installed (which stopped the drip). I didn't realize the drip didn't start until 1970.

Wowza!!  The Acosta looks like those photos capturing traffic at high speed, which were artsy once upon a time.  Nice!
