Max Moody Jr. (1913 – 1987), CEO of heavy equipment company M.D. Moody & Sons, was a prominent Jacksonville businessman of the 20th century. As shown by his photos, shared by his great grandson Andrew R. Nicholas, he was also a prolific hobby photographer who captured many interesting images of life in Jacksonville during his time.

Brings back memories of my growing up in Jacksonville. Moody Brother's has expanded into other lines of business over the years including Mobro Marine (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOBRO_Marine,_Inc. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOBRO_Marine,_Inc.)). Their barges have made the news over the years for carrying somewhat notorious cargoes such as garbage and plastic waste (saw one of their barges loaded with plastic waste featured in a recent Frontline documentary about the failures to recycle most plastics) with no home and the plane that crashed a while back at NAS.
The camera in one of the photos is an early model Polaroid that is similar to one my father bought in the early 1950's. You would open up the back to peal off the picture and then coat it with a fixative to preserve it. I recall it only took black and white photos at the time.
Interesting photos, I wonder how come that truck ended up in wet cement.
Maybe the driver had tossed back a few...
