Although few in number compared to many other Southern cities, a variety of monuments and memorials commemorating the Civil War exist in Jacksonville. These include graves, historic sites associated with camps and battles, monuments to those on both sides of the war, and schools and placenames dedicated to Civil War figures.

Is this one of the pieces that they're removing from Old City Cemetary? They have 2nd thing in the city list but it's title is lopped off and shows up under stomething else.

I don't know but anything's possible now that they're even removing historical markers and informational signs from Camp Milton.
Maybe I'm over thinking this too much but I'd venture a few of these markers will come back. The impetus for the time being could be to demonstrate change while protecting them them from damage. Later when the situation improves, you can put back up the ones that make sense, like just marking an old fort or battlefield.

This is the Confederate marker in Old City Cemetery. It's located just south of the grandstand.

I'm really surprised to see them remove historic markers out of cemeteries. To me, next to Confederate graves or properly contextualized as an exhibit in a local history musuem is where some of these things make the most sense.
Re: Old City Cemetery. FYI, some of the iron crosses may have been paid for by family members for their relative's graves. How would you feel if somebody removed something you put on your family's grave? Does anyone have a right to do that to you and them? Also FYI there is a group that makes repairs and paints some of the very structures that will be torn down (the bandstand, for example - how is that offensive?) as well as repairing tombstones that are broken or have fallen down or are sinking, tending the grounds, picking up trash not only in the cemetery but also outside the fences, out in the neighborhood.
^I've actually met that group in person, while visiting the cemetery. They do the same for the black section of the cemetery.
