Left out the most famous of all: Farah and Farah 8)!
Very good article. I think I was introduced to Camel Riders, at the original store, by a co-worker at the old Haydon Burns Library in the late 1960s.
....and the Steak in a Sack!
Also, I believe that Lubi's has Arab(ic) roots as well.
Renna's Pizza too. Always a giveaway when there's homemade baklava in the dessert case I suppose.
Edgewood Sandwich Shop - 45 years, baby! Woot-Woot!!! Love those guys.
Used to go to Farah's Sandwich Shop (where Bread and Board is now) just about every week. Friendly folk and good food.
Keep sending us names. We'll do a follow up article sharing the history of more places that weren't included in today's article. Two more to add:
Andy's Sandwich Shop
503 Lane Avenue South
Sandwich House
5141 Beach Boulevard
One that's come up on Facebook several times is Mussallem's rug store. Open since 1898!
Not quite as old as the restaurants in the article, but I'm pretty sure Al Mansur of Al's Pizza is from the Middle East originally, though not sure he's Arab American. He's possibly the closest thing to The Most Interesting Man in Jacksonville.

Don't forget Joseph's Pizza on Main St., one of the oldest in Jacksonville.
^^^They mentioned Joseph's on page 2.
Oops. My bad. Thanks
