Maybe we should elect the officials of Baldwin to run Jacksonville.  They have managed to have the City (not private developers!) buy and preserve a major historic structure and manage their retail center as opposed to demolishing them.  How progressive and novel!  All, without the assistance of Shad Khan or spending over $233 million of taxpayer money 8).  Not bad for a town 1/600th the size of Jacksonville.

You haven't driven through lately... I think it's a slowly dying town. Beaver street (main) is full of empty store fronts.  Making matters worse for Baldwin is the new 301 bypass that will divert all I-10 and 301 traffic around the town. It is a nice little town but...

Well, this would then be something Baldwin does have in common with its big brother's (Jacksonville) downtown retail  8).
