Mayor Lenny Curry is trying to distance himself from the JEA sale fiasco, but what does the evidence say about his involvement? Close analysis reveals only two possibilities: either Curry is indeed the mastermind behind the sale of the public utility, or he is in reality a brainless echinoderm, perhaps of the species Holothuria floridana, witlessly squirming his way through the business of being Mayor of Jacksonville.

A compelling argument for both sides. I'm undecided.
This is a disappointingly immature article. I typically expect better content from The Jaxson. This reads like a snarky Buzzfeed article or an Onion article. Hard to take it seriously, despite the legitimate criticisms of Curry.

Duly noted, I'll let the writer know that you found it hard to take their sea cucumber jokes seriously.

You're not getting my point. I don't care if the author knows my criticism. I'm sharing my opinion, and mine is that an article like this makes me take the criticism contained within less seriously, and that overall these kind of articles make me take The Jaxson less seriously.
I don't expect anybody else to care or share my opinion, but this is the place to express criticism, which is what I'm doin'.
I'm kind of with you. Reminds me of something our friend Mr "Dare" would have written.

I thought the same thing. :-X
I don't know who JD McGregor's is or if that is a nom de plume, but I enjoy his satire. The grass fields piece was great and this was a fairly clever way to point out how obvious it is that Curry is heavily involved in the JEA shenanigans.
Keep up the good work.
There's nothing wrong with pointing out the absurdity of a scenario where Curry somehow accidentally did all of this. This article can afford to be satirical because of how ludicrous an argument to the contrary would have to be, unless we're going to Washington and making the case that Curry can do anything he wants if he feels like his personal benefit is also the city's benefit.
All the snark aside, there are two questions that have to answered. The usual "what did he know and when did he know it?". and the biggie, "Did he stand to gain personally?". On the second one, if he did, I'm sure Zahn will point it out in his own defense during arbitration. If Curry didn't stand to gain personally, why was he so "invested" in the sale?
One thing for sure. There's no way this remains a secret. It will come out.

With all due respect to Stephen, this was far cleverer than his usual stuff.

This. That's what I take from this.
Bottom line is that given the evidence, I'd be shocked if he genuinely didn't orchestrate this.
I thoroughly enjoyed the piece. Keep 'em coming.
Apparently the are Benefits From Eating Sea Cucumbers as food.
Appropriate image of a Politician eaten alive, consumed by events.
Good piece, set Sea Cucumber consumption aside if need be.
Good timeline profile and links.
Absolutely, definitely, and without any doubt: BOTH.
