What a mess....
QuoteJEA has suspended its privatization negotiations until the Florida Ethics Commission determines whether financial benefits in the contracts of the utility's senior officials are a conflict-of-interest that prohibits them from participating in the negotiations.
The city's ethics director Carla Miller recommended the state provide an opinion after she reviewed the contracts of JEA's senior leadership team. Miller said on Friday that the issue under review is a provision that entitles the 13 members of the senior leadership team, including CEO Aaron Zahn, to post-employment consulting jobs.
"You don't want people negotiating the contact if they have a personal interest. If any of the aspects of what they're negotiating benefits them personally, that's what you would look at," she said.

Hurrah for Carla Miller!!
The conflict of interest could not be more obvious.
Finally! What took so long? With huckster Zahn doing Lenny's bidding, this entire fiasco has been on huge head scratch for me. How has this happened? From out of no where we have an unworthy CEO with a very checkered past taking our city's largest asset and putting it up for sale. Most likely for his, Lenny's and God knows whomever else's benefit. Stop this nonsense and run these bastards out of town!
