Nice! I see everyone is still stuck on using the Phoenix neighborhood name although technically this is Springfield's warehouse district. Anything associated with Phoenix, like Rubin Iron Works, is east of the Springfield rail yard.
This area has so much potential to become something similar to Wynwood. Seeing a Miami developer involved is really promising.
If this city had any vision, they'd be working on getting light rail or automated light metro up and running along the S-Line from Downtown to Gateway as well.
^lol time flies. We mentioned and supported this very exact thing back in the mid 2000s. JTA ended up doing a commuter rail study using the corridor around 2010 or so. Nothing happened. But yes, if this city were smart, they'd take advantage of this type of corridor.
I don't... particularly understand what this project is yet, but all the same it's nice to see some consensus around developing in Springfield. Tons of potential, especially if there's enough housing people can afford to realize it.

Almost worse than nothing. They did that study and then shelved pretty much everything but the FEC part from happening any time soon. Not to say that even the FEC part is happening any time soon. Should be especially feasible now with lighter DMU trains like the Stadler FLIRT available and operating in other cities.
At least the #1 bus comes right up Main Street next to this project, and it's not too infrequent at peak (bad compared to a lot of peer cities but what else is new).

I look forward to seeing what they can do with the district.
