Interesting article, especially the mystery. 
Strange that all that 'stuff' is still inside the buildings.
Unless I missed it in the article, I didn't see where it is located.
With the reference to I-95 taking business away, I guessed US 17 - and a quick look at Google Earth confirms it.

^Yes, it's on US 17 just south of the Florida/Georgia state line.
