When they do the airshow at the base, the soaring sounds of the Blue Angels flying are sure to wake you up out of a dead sleep.
Thanks for posting! I was going to but got distracted. Go see our highly trained, highly motivated, armed forces show their stuff... ask em questions... they love to answer them. :)
I've heard the Angels practicing overhead. Man, those guys are loud and proud!!
The Angels are the stars of the show but there are alot of static aircraft on display. A warbird from WWII will be doing a flying demo... That will be something to see!!
We watched the practicing today it was AWESOME!!! LOUD and PROUD ...yep!!!
If the Blue Angels fly at 3, I wonder if they are going to do a flyover at the stadium for the Jags game at 4. That would definitely get the crowd going. And if they're flying at 800 mph, that would only be about 12 seconds out of the way for them.
Good point fightingosprey. That would be the best flyover yet!
I'm also looking forward to the "Shockwave Jet Truck". I hope they fire it up for a run.
What determines whether they do it at JAX Beach vs. NAS JAX, or, are there actually two Blue Angels appearances per year? BTW, it would be pretty strong if they do the flyover at the stadium Sunday before the Jags game!
We asked that today. We were told it is every other year, NAS Jax or Mayport.
actually that doesn;t make sense. What I meant was they come every year, but one year is NAS JAX the next year would be Mayport
It's the highlight of the fall to see the air show, definitely looking forward to the festivities that day. Hope everyone has a good time!
The blue angels are back. They are out at the beach practicing.

Nice post AJ. It is OK to use up a fresh thread they got plenty. I think maybe it may confuse some tacking it to the old 2008 show at the NAS JAX post, but that's OK.
If you haven't heard there's lots going on this weekend in Jax. This should be a good show. The ones over water are often better than the ones over land.
Good stuff...i remember going to see them with my dad, when i was a kid. Really would like to see them again, and take my nephew. All little boys (young or old) should see the Angels at least once. ;D
They are doing a "practice run" today at 2:15 at the beach, so look up when at the beach this afternoon!
Why not just continuously edit this thread and post a new banner every year?
Currently watching six jets practicing for this weekend's airshow. They just flew over San Marco, couldn't have been more than 20 feet apart. Impressive to watch.
I posted this in 2008? Wow.
I shot some video with my iPhone, here are the links..

Pictures didn't turn out so well, as was expected with cloudy skies.
