Everyone be on the lookout, at least 2 people on Ernest st near 5 points got broken into this morning. Who knows whats next. Dont count on your alarm system either, they ripped theirs out of the wall and it took the cops 3 hours to respond to the alarm companies call. >:(
These have been happening in the morning after people leave for work. I'll be riding around early thursday morning. >:( Remember folks you can shoot if they are in your house. The officer Canvassing this morning told me it was legal to post a warning sign in the Alley. He was genuinely concerned and I appreciate that.

All these break-ins make me nervous.. not enough to buy and keep a gun though.
I would be more on edge just having a gun in the house that could be taken and used against me or stolen and used in another crime.
On a side note: I live next to 5 points and walk to the store a lot in the evenings... I may be wearing a black hoodie to keep warm and have no intention of taking your things... don't shoot!

I was at Starbucks last night, and this happened right beside me at the register. Some dude, shaved head, white male, stole the tips right off the counter. I didn't notice until the girl screamed HE STOLE OUR TIPS! I ran out the door, up Margaret, down Oak, back through the Publix parking lot, then lost him. I played football as a Defensive Back, Strong Safety, and he out ran my ass. I appologized the girl and she said she is "Sick of this shit!" I am too, ironically, 15min later, JSO rolled by. These lazy bastards need to get their heds on right and pay better attention overall. All this, for no more than I'd estimate as $7 in tips. I pulled a muscle below my right calve muscle during the process and it hurts like a bitch. I about snapped my ankle on the curb. Everyone thanked me for trying, and it felt good trying. I would've smashed his skull into the pavement until he was bleeding from the eyebrows and no teeth. Petty shit pisses me off.

there is absolutely no problem with that, except there are so many people applying for concealed permits right now it is a three to four month waiting period.

If you already know how to shoot, go to Shooters and take the course, it is quick simple, and the handle everything but finger prints. Do it now, because it is a long, long wait for the state to process, and go early (class starts at 10AM and it is FULL every Saturday) It was interesting to see all the people there, from all walks of life for all different reasons. One lady there had just been car jacked and she scared the hell out of me LOL!

Do any folks here attend ShAdCo meetings? I'm curious whether there has been any lip service paid to these abyssmal response times and general apathy from JSO. Is it going to take someone getting killed as a result of their non-response to burglaries in progress for any change to occur? It's a sad state of affairs when my husband tries to talk me out of a 9pm run to Walgreens or Publix because of this.
There is a ShAdCo meeting TONIGHT in Cedar Hills, I dont have the full details with me, they are at my house. I am going to try my best to attend.

Honestly, I wish Jacksonville WOULD stand up and fight back. I'm fed the hell up with all the burglaries, crimes, killings, acts of hate, etc.. Someone breaks into my house, they're either getting a baseball bat to the skull and getting their skull cracked open, or a double barrel shotgun blast to the head. Yeah; as an ex-military man (in his 50's now), your efforts are applauded. If I were younger I would have chased him too; if you don't, who will? JSO certainly won't (they're too busy eating their donuts and drinking starbucks coffee); after they finish eating and drinking their coffee, then they'll "check it out." What in the world are they (JSO and other police and sheriff's around the nation) gonna do when everything starts to blow up in our face? They won't have time to eat donuts and drink coffee then, but who knows? They might be too scared to face the terrorists, rioters, and looters down and just "wait it out" behind a building or in the boonies until their shift ends.
