Title: BRT Meeting
Post by: alta on October 21, 2008, 11:37:36 PM
I received a letter in the mail today that JTA is having BRT meetings on November 10th at Gateway Mall and November 17th at FCCJ North Campus.

There will be a public hearing November 10th at 5:30 to share project information and seek comments for the proposed North Bus Maintenance Facility adjacent to the intersection of Golfair Blvd. and Davis Street.

On November 10th at Gateway and November 17th at FCCJ North Campus there will be a public meeting to "kick off" the BRT North Bus Corridor Study and present a study overview and seek public comments.

Is JTA playing games with us by doing the commuter rail study?  I hope not.  It sounds like they are moving ahead with the BRT North Corridor.

Does History Repeat itself? Read the Skyway history files and the first streetcar study which is spoken of in the storys.

JTA never scrapped the BRT plan.  We were only successful at getting them to abandon their push to put a transit mall on Bay, Forsyth, Adams and Philip Randolph, in the core. It will require another strong effort to slow down and alter this plan to the point of where it makes sense.
