Title: Help identifying location downtown
Post by: nwbjr on February 06, 2019, 04:17:23 PM
This is a photo of my mom and grandpa walking downtown. I believe late 1950's. Can anybody help identify what street this is, or what buildings these are?

The church in the background is the Basilica of The Immaculate Conception and it faces towards the south. From the looks of the location it WPDQ was located on N. Laura St. but I don't recall the cross tie so it's either the corner of Laura and Ashley looking east or corner of Laura and Church looking east.

Easy. This is Church Street between Hogan and Laura streets. The building on the right is the back of the city hall. The buildings on the left are now owned by First Baptist Church.
