Absolutely loved this article, so I just wanted to pass it along:

Amazing, relevant story of one planner's fight to have a pedestrian-centric urban ballpark built into the street grid of the Armor Park neighborhood, retaining old Comiskey's diamond as a community park, versus the owner's desire to bulldoze the neighborhood and create the suburban-style, vehicle-centric monstrosity that was ultimately constructed.
The story touches on everything from historic preservation, to urban planning, to neighborhood identity, to forced displacement, to public subsidy.
Can't recommend it enough.
