Springfield Live/Work Loft Project Breaks Ground
While small in size, this project represents a new trend of urban and pedestrian oriented infill development that will soon become a major player in Springfield. 15 West Sixth is the first new construction mixed-use project to break ground along the Main and 8th Street commercial corridors.

Is this going to span/block the paved alley?
Quality urban infill should be designed to respect and contribute to the existing district and the immediate surrounding landscape. With that in mind and as a design basis, this structure will only be built on the vacant lot, leaving the public alley fully accessible.

Stucco work is now being applied to the remaining exterior walls

Yeah, it's coming along really well, it's certainly made that block look so much better!

Things are comming along great. Are you still on schedule?
Overall, I'd say we're off schedule by a month (I was shooting for completing it this month). But in the grand scheme of things its not much of an issue considering the market and the unique nature of this type of project locally.

Not that I'm aware. Don't know why this thread got resurrected (last post up until now was in 2007).
Last I looked, the 2nd unit was still just a shell & work stopped on the project after the economy tanked (was supposed to be a total of 4 units in all I believe). I wouldn't mind renting the 2nd one & doing a small business in the bottom of it.
Any word on this, Lake??
