Great news!
Ahhh, this is exciting! They're one of my top two coffee spots, so it'll be nice having them a little closer to Arlington!

Ah, Vagabond Coffee, a fitting profile on a day when the news coming out of downtown is that a transient attacked a pregnant woman on Laura Street whilst she was on her way to work. Here here to Vagabonds.
The Murray Hill location is a regular spot for me. I love it.
Can we quit with the Starbucks talk now :P But seriously, I love projects like this. Fills in another vacant area downtown and one can assume it will bring in a lot of business and foot traffic. I'll say it again and again, while there continues to be back and fourth on major projects, I'll take all these small wins all day long (which there are quite a few stacking up).
Will from Vagabond has been looking at various ways to open a store downtown for more than 3 years. Glad that there are passionate entrepreneurs like him that refuse to quit on downtown and will bootstrap every which way til Sunday to open a business in the core.
This will be the 25th storefront opened by a Jaxsons Night Market vendor (and the 9th 'downtown')... incredibly proud of that.

Just wanted to put that out there since the City effectively denied me the ability to continue to host the market downtown last year. After four years of verifiable success and business growth, JNM is no more.
Someone should right an article about that ;)
Isn't there a coffee shop going into the ground floor of the Barnett? I thought that was Vagabond. Am I wrong?

You should read the article :)
The only thing I took from the article is "He also writes fiction novels under the name J.D. McGregor."
Search Amazon and buy some of those books. I have kids to feed, you know.

Done and done.

I'd say that's a pretty great track record, Mike.
Really, really excited about Vagabond's moves. I work on the same block, and there were some brief whispers about four months ago about Vagabond taking that space, but I just kind of assumed they were waiting for the Barnett. Awesome that they're apparently doing two locations.
I'm super curious to see what the Barnett location is going to look like.
Could be downtown's flagship, destination coffee shop, particularly if the city allows them luxuries like signage and outdoor seating.

"Luxuries"! In almost any other city those would be no problem. ::)
The awesome thing about Will (Vagabond) is he does most of the build out himself and he does a great job so he can really make nice spaces on a budget.
Does Bold Bean have a downtown location?
^Closest location is San Marco.
Bellwether serves Bold Bean, however.

Closest is definitely the location in Stockton and College.

What do you mean by "definitely"? Both in absolute distance and driving distance, San Marco is closer.
He must mean "how long it takes to get there..."
Open as of yesterday!
Great!
I've been impressed with the new coffee place on Atlantic in San Marco, Southern Grounds.
Incredible prices on wine. By the bottle, starting under $10!
Also the food is good! Every time I've been it has had a crowd of some sort.
