Plans for downtown Hotel Indigo moving forward

Plans for Laura Street's next major project appear to be poised to take another step forward. Profit Investments Partners is seeking final design approval by the Downtown Development Review Board (DDRB) to convert 100 West Bay Street into a Hotel Indigo.

Glad to see new hotel product downtown, and at the same time, re-activation of existing older building stock.  I'm a tad disappointed that more isn't being done to update and upgrade the exterior, but oh well.

Yeah; could have been a little more imaginative relative to the reconstruction design, maybe bringing it up to updated/modern look and standards; but hey, beggars can't be choosy, and, they probably are trying to save money. NICE!

Daily Record said the DDRB gave final approval yesterday so construction should start end of this summer.

I like it. It's a great reuse of the structure. Also, they aren't asking for incentives so it appears the market can support the product.

The existing clean design gives them a really cool canvas for lighting.

When you're talking an evening spot with two restaurants and a rooftop bar, I think lighting is as important, if not more, than any exterior reconstruction.
