Walked past yesterday and someone was pulling the signs down... walked by again today and the place looks deserted.

Don't tease me. Nothing against Indochine but not our cup of tea and that bar was a disaster.
Hopefully someone with a clue and some capital will take over.
So much potential in such a cool space and it just never really worked well...
I don't mind as long as the downtown location stays open. I love their Pad Thai.

Agreed. It was amazing to walk by Grape and Grain packed at bizarre times and that place empty at primo time.
TOTALLY agree.
Call Al Mansur..................

I assume a new place wouldn't face the moronic parking space requirements since it was all ready a restaurant right?
Otherwise, The SanMarco parking geniuses will be out in force. Empty storefronts mean less traffic and open up spaces for our customers! Brilliant!
Not sure the ruling in San Marco. In Riverside/Avondale, if a "contributing historic structure" is reused (meaning, no SqFt addition to the space), their parking requirement is 0. I don't know if the San Marco overlay is the same.
I like Indochine but that location has been a disaster since day 1. They also had plumbing issues which they had repaired, but it completed improperly which caused the wonderful smell of backed up sewage through much of that bottom floor.
As long as the downtown location is intact, I'm fine with this one closing.
I heard over the weekend that Bistro Aix is NOT reopening in the old (flooded) location. Anybody can confirm?
UPDATE:
Just knocked on the door and they open in 2 weeks.
