Interesting. One correction though. I95 used to be depressed in this area. I'm not sure they were still having classes when I-95 was completed in 1960. If they did, there was no flyover noise that would have impacted classes. The flyover was added with the most recent reconstruction project.
About Annie Lytle: Please know that the building no longer looks the way the photographs depict it. although still needing a lot of love a considerable amount has been accomplished there. Approximately 3/4 of the building have been cleaned out of all the trash, etc. that were once there. The graffiti is almost nonexistent. The yard is being maintained. All of this began 9 years ago by Tim Kinnear. The group he founded, Annie Lytle Preservation Group, is always seeking new volunteers. The latest owners are very cooperative.
