Interesting. One correction though. I95 used to be depressed in this area. I'm not sure they were still having classes when I-95 was completed in 1960. If they did, there was no flyover noise that would have impacted classes. The flyover was added with the most recent reconstruction project.

About Annie Lytle:  Please know that the building no longer looks the way the photographs depict it.  although still needing a lot of love a considerable amount has been accomplished there.  Approximately 3/4 of the building have been cleaned out of all the trash, etc. that were once there.  The graffiti is almost nonexistent.  The yard is being maintained.  All of this began 9 years ago by Tim Kinnear.  The group he founded, Annie Lytle Preservation Group, is always seeking new volunteers.  The latest owners are very cooperative.  Anyone who would like to see the progress being made or wish to volunteer can contact us annielytlepreservationgroup@yahoo.com.
