These guys have come up with a chicken crust pizza - the nutrition on these look amazing.
https://www.theproteinza.com/nutrition/
Looks like they are located near regal cinema on beach blvd.
According to the reddit post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/jacksonville/comments/6n4o7h/jacksonville_founded_company_proteinza_pizza/
This is per Proteinza (10 inch pie), usually cut into 6 slices
For the full 10" base alone : Calories: 344 Protein: 54g Carbohydrates: 13g Sugar: 0g Fat: 7g
The toppings determine how good or bad the nutrition will be, but generally excellent macro ratio thanks to the crust.
Hopefully it tastes good, will have to go check it out.
Tried it and I am really surprised at how great it tastes! It definitely tastes like it was a bread base, thin and crispy too.
100% would recommend giving it a try!
They are doing a promotion right now FYI - if you take an selfie with the Proteinza and tag them on Instagram you're next one is free.
Has anyone else tried it? What did you think?
Healthy? You're having a laugh. But hey - why shouldn't more chickens be killed needlessly in order for you to be able to stick to your low-carb fad diet?
Because chickens are food... ::)

Well, they are to you. But it's not pizza if you make the crust out of shredded chicken. And maybe instead of doing a dumb fad diet where you starve your body of carbs, you just do a bit of portion control? Dieting is all about willpower and developing a lifestyle.

No - it's not Pizza because the Italians say it isn't. Pizza is a form of flatbread. But I suppose it's "pizza" of a sort.

Chicken
is food for a lot of people. I never said it wasn't. Chicken isn't flatbread, though.
I guess Chicken Parmesan is pizza to these folks, too. Anyone for "pizza"?

I dont think the Italians... or even you get to define Pizza. There are a wide range of substitutes for the base of said dish... and it will still be pizza.

Pizza is a type of flatbread. And certain types of pizza are actually protected - they have to be made a certain way to be called that.
But who am I to stop the ever-growing numbers of morbidly obese Americans from coming up with another culinary travesty?
Check out this great new pizza I found. It has an alternative crust for all you carb-watchers who don't like the traditional chicken crust!

Oh...I get it. Google is allowed to define pizza. Or the person who posted the picture is allowed to define pizza.
So if I say that tomato sauce and cheese on chicken is chicken parmesan, then it is. Even if you call it pizza. It's all down to what you want to call it. Put toppings on a bit of courgette (one of the things you posted) - pizza. Why not?
Oh yeah...dough. That's why not.

I wonder if all their "alternative" pizzas have bases made of dough.
I am not likely to go, as I avoid places like Fulham.

Yeah, in my English program they taught us that the only ones allowed to define pizza are people going on about it in Jacksonville Internet forums.

It looks like pizza (see below) and tastes like pizza, Therefore it's perfectly reasonable to call it pizza.
Except they didn't, They called it Proteinza.

Pizza is a form of bread and requires a doughy base. Of course, you can call it whatever you like.
But you're fooling yourself if you think it's any "healthier" than regular pizza. It's not. It is lower carb. But carbs aren't unhealthy. They just get in the way of low carb diets.

We need carbohydrates for daily function, it is the preferred energy source. There are however simple carbohydrates and complex carbohydrates and unless you are about to do some form of physical exertion and need energy fast, complex carbs are "healthier" than simple ones because they supply energy over a longer duration and keep a steady insulin level. Protein and fat stimulate even less of an insulin response (fat however is very energy dense and is generally linked with cholesterol etc). In this country obesity/diabetes is a massive issue and this is largely due to the excessive intake of carbohydrates, particularly simple carbohydrates (sugar, high fructose corn syrup etc). Substituting carbohydrates for protein can easily be argued to be healthier in this context. No ones saying carbs are unhealthy, just most people don't need so many.

Just eat smaller portions and lay off the high fructose corn syrup, etc. Or you can get a low carb "pizza" with lots of sodium and saturated fat and say "fuck it!"

Both your claims are inaccurate, clearly have something against facts and low carb diets.

I've read the nutritional info on the website you posted a link to. And I also have a bit of experience in dieting, having lost 40 lbs seven years ago. And I did that through watching my portions, not cutting carbohydrates out of my diet. If a low carb diet works for you, then fine. But there's more to "healthy" than low carb. And I'd not consider those "pizzas" (or are they non-traditional cheesecakes?) healthy. They are what they are. But you can get healthier pizza with a traditional - or actual - crust. Of course, if you really want to be healthy, you might want to cut down on your pizza anyway. Unless, of course, you cut out the cheese and other "bad" toppings.
Adam, read up on Ketogenics.
Like most 'diets' it only works if you stick with it, but in a nutshell, you 'train' the body to use the stored fat as an energy source rather than burn the carbs. That requires replacing one source or energy for another - carbs v/s fats.
The downside to this style of eating is that if you don't stick with it 100% of the time (if you cheat), your body never goes / doesn't stay in ketosis (burning fat) and you have a real chance to gain considerably more weight as well as all the other cholesterol issues that come along with high fat intake.
But I agree with you 1,000% that portion control (calories in v/s calories out) and dietary variety is the best way to go. It doesn't mean you can't have ice cream, but there's no need to have 4 scoops of it. Eat a steak, but cut it 5-6oz as opposed to 10-12.
And I guess for you being vegan, there aren't a whole lot of calories in most of what you eat anyhow, so there's that, too.

Hi NRW - I am familiar with ketogenics. You might manage to lose weight (if you stick to it), but no one will want you because your breath will smell like zombie farts.
I'm not a vegan - just a vegetarian (who could manage to eat better - yeah, I don't eat meat, but I eat too much crap these days).
